A shelter-in-place was put into effect at Kimball High School in Dallas on Monday morning, but was lifted early in the afternoon. The school district said the student's injuries are non-life threatening and he has been taken to a local hospital.

"The student arrived at school today with this for (an) unplanned conference with school administrators. Because of the circumstance, the procedures for the metal detectors was not applied."
